Since 2020 I have seen uncanny - in the true meaning of that word - parallels between the situation Jeremiah had to face, and what we face now. Even down to it being foreign policy which led to Judah's final destruction in circa 600BC. Just like our poking the Russian bear. We hate Orthodox Russia far more than we hated/opposed the communist USSSR.
Interesting. I'll have to go back to Jeremiah to see it through that lens. But it is true that there is nothing new under the sun! There was a lot of immorality and licentiousness in the days before the exile. Human nature doesn't change.
