And yet, God's will prevailed

Encouragement for the start of 2025

I don’t know about you, but I feel that I need some encouragement at the start of 2025! I thought it would be good to share some thoughts I’ve had while watching through the BBC adaptation of Hilary Mantel’s book “Wolf Hall” — all about the life of Thomas Cromwell as he served Henry VIII. What encouragement can we take into our lives and into this new year from the way that God has worked in the past?

Sacred Musings is a reader-supported publication. To receive new posts and support my work, consider becoming a free or paid subscriber.

The post I mentioned about the Antichrist, the West and Israel is here:

The West, Israel, and the Antichrist

Before Christmas I preached through the New Testament letter of 2 Thessalonians. It’s a very short letter — only three chapters — but the second chapter is a significant one, because it contains one of the major sections of teaching in the New Testament about the antichrist (or “man of lawlessness”, as Paul calls him).
